The highly anticipated trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune has finally arrived! Based on Frank Herbert’s iconic science-fiction novel, the film features a star-studded cast including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Jason Mamoa, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, and Javier Bardem.

Director, Villeneuve is certainly no stranger to the sci-fi genre, having previously helmed acclaimed films like Arrival and Blade Runner 2049. Not to mention, his signature striking visuals will be set to an epic score by Hans Zimmer—as if we weren’t already hyped!

Dune, set to hit theaters on December 18th, is the first of two movies based on Herbert’s 1965 book—this year’s film is expected to cover the first half, while the second movie (which doesn’t yet have a title or release date) will cover the remainder of the novel. Clearly, Warner Bros. sees potential for Dune to become its next big franchise, as there’s also an HBO Max prequel in the works. The series, titled Dune: The Sisterhood, will focus on the Bene Gesserit, the all-female society whose plans are at the heart of the series.
