Name: Mary Pierce
Agency: FactorChosen/ Trump NYC
Hometown: Chicago, IL
How’d you start modeling?
I got scouted a few times as a middle schooler but I always thought it was a scam. I finally decided to give it a try after a scout told me I could travel for free. I skipped the model convention event because it seemed kind of shady; I just went straight to Elite Chicago (now FactorChosen Chicago) and I was offered a contract on the spot.
Who are your biggest inspirations?
The classic beauties and big browed babes like Cindy Crawford and Hilary Rhoda.
Favorite modeling experience, so far & why?
Shooting L’Officiel in the South of France with an amazing team! Everything was so effortless and perfect. We got to hang out on this old French farm and the pictures are just gorgeous.
Tell us some of your modeling goals. Any particular brands you’d love to model for?
I’ve been on hold for a few exclusives and it would be a dream to finally book one! Particular brands I’d love to work with are Prada and Dolce & Gabbana.
What are some of your favorite beauty products?
Every model knows the wonders of Embryolisse’s Lait Crème Concentré. I used to buy it in bulk in Paris, but now American drug stores carry it. I also really love using a rose water spray and jojoba oil in my daily routine. It’s all about skin care in the off-duty model life. On set, I love beauty products from Armani and Laura Mercier.
We know you’ve gotta take care of your figure, but what’s your favorite “cheat meal”?
I love doing HIIT workouts and then stuffing myself with Chic-Fil-A sandwiches (their sauces are AMAZING) or Steak N Shake’s Frisco Melts with extra Frisco sauce, of course
What are you listening to at the moment?
Honey ft. Savanna by Tuffy Campbell — the Chicago homies are very talented.
Favorite TV show/ movie?
Mr. Robot currently has my attention. I also really love House of Cards and my favorite movie is probably Ghost Writer (no, not Ghost Rider, sorry Nicolas Cage)
What’s your biggest pet peeve & why?
People who are self-centered and only care about self-promotion; there are bigger and more important things in this world than your Instagram following or your NYFW resumé.
Something you love to do in your spare time?
I have been secretly perfecting my calligraphy practice — someone please hire me to write their wedding invitations! LOL It’s honestly really fun and therapeutic.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
I was captain of the math team in HS and never went prom. I was honestly a pretty lame kid who secretly modeled after school.
What valuable lessons have you learned from the industry, thus far? Any advice for other aspiring models?
Be real with yourself, get an education and figure out what you want. Don’t just passively do whatever your agents or managers tell you. Have goals and find people who are willing to help you achieve them. Oh, and be nice… it’s not that hard.
