According to Fashionista.com, Banana Republic will be joining the lineup at New York Fashion Week. The major retailer will join the likes of other commercial brands like J.Crew, Juicy Couture, J Brand and G-Star, which have been showcasing collections at NYFW for the past several seasons. A spokesperson for the brand has confirmed that, for the first time, Banana Republic will showcase both men’s and women’s collections at the event.
This is pretty exciting news for the Gap Inc.-owned label, which appointed Marissa Webb as its creative director last April. This will be the second collection Webb has produced for Banana Republic.
According to the provisional show schedule, the brand will show in the 6 p.m. slot on Saturday, Feb. 14.
